Having a normal love life with HPV seems really hard. Heres the thing.....if i tell the person, then i risk them telling others, but if i dont tell them, then im putting them at risk for infection. In the past, i would have protected sex with someone, but not tell them i have HPV. Later, i would tell the person, and they would be so hurt and mad...i mean really mad. But i didnt tell the person because i didnt want them spreading my business, which when the person was mad, went and told others any way. A couple of other people just stopped talking to me or ignored me and treated me like i was a disease. People that ive been in a relationship with, i told them that i have HPV out of respect for them, and it didnt bother them. But others were really mad and acted like it was the end of the world n their things were gonna fall off or something. Heres the thing.......i did not try to infect them on purpose. We used protection. The messed up part is, they are so mad at me and blaming me for potentially giving them a disease, but they never look at themselves for using me for sex and putting themselves at risk. They never took responsibility for the part they played in the situation.....anyway.....how does one with HPV have a normal love life, be open and honest with their partner, keep their privacy, and protect their partner from infection? I read that the partner has to get vaccinated to protect them from the particular strain of HPV one has. Is that the only means of protection? And are condoms a reliable method of protection against HPV? Your thoughts please........
