Dealing with HPV

hello, I’m a 24 year old male who was diagnosed with having 2 genital warts that were removed with cryotherapy. I’m trying to grasp how I will be able to have a normal sex life and if there are chat rooms for people who have hpv because it seems that only someone with hpv will understand this. Any advice or stories of how to deal with the stigma behind it all would be very much appreciated.

Only advice I can give is to not blame yourself. Did the ask the nurses give you any advice on how to live with it or of your immune system really clears it? Because I saw one person say a nurse told them they can have sex just cover the infected area

Not a thing, told me to wrap it if I’m going to have sex and that my immune system will clear it out eventually. It is difficult to deal with and it’s hard to want to go out and meet females when I’ll only have to tell them that I’ve had or have hpv. It really is annoying haha but I do feel better knowing that there are others out there feeling how I do. The worst part about it all is not knowing when I got it or how long I’ve had it before the diagnosis. Idk how I’d feel if I gave it someone else. No one deserves this kind of negative stigma.

Same here bro. Im 23 and been depressed all year then my life was just getting great then this hits. As a dude the part about this that annoys me is many doctors tell us either not to worry and that only woman get it. Dont want to vaccinate us before. And that when it comes to warts you only get it if you see one. The only way Im coping is knowing not to blame myself because I was misinformed.

When it comes to hooking up. I actually told a female and she was fine with it, but turned out to be a nut case. So hopefully it wont be as bad having a normal life as a thought.

Just hoping going on a clean diet and taking all these supplements will clear it within a year.

Also im glad to now someone like me is going thru this same struggle

For real my doc made it seem like I had the flu and like it was no big deal. Meanwhile I’m sitting there naked having a meltdown. I mean I know it’s not like a serious health crisis. But when I asked him if it is a rare he thing he laughed and said I wasn’t the first one that week. The struggle is real brotha trust me I know your pain.

Smh, well hopefully since were both young we can clear this no problem. Because I read somewhere that most people in there 20s and 30s have it with no symptoms because are immune systems are top notch. But nevertheless, keep me posted and Ill do the same. Im going to ask my doc on tuesday about how to have a normal sex life with it like things we can and cant do. And as well as ways to prevent any spreading.
Hopefully its good news since docs seem nonchalant about it like its teenage acne.
