Are colposcopys always done after abnormal paps?

I was also wondering if colposcopys are always done after abnormal paps? Does this mean the dr thinks things are more serious.? Dont some drs just have you come back in a few months for another pap, usually?

A colposcopy is standard procedure if you are positive for HPV and have an abnormal pap so don't read anything more into this than it is.
When I asked all my friends about this procedure before I had mine, every single one of them had it at one point in their life and they are all healthy. That alone made me feel better.
