HPV Support Group
Human papillomavirus is a diverse group of DNA-based viruses that infect the skin and mucous membranes of humans. More than 100 different human papillomavirus (HPV) types have been characterized. Some HPV types cause benign skin warts, or papillomas, for which the virus family is named. HPVs associated with the development of such "common warts" are transmitted...
I just started vitamins and still need to change my lifestyle to see if that helps. You think with all the negativity that comes along with GW, that I would have started making changes a long time ago. But I am really having trouble with it. I think I may subconsciously be worried it won't help anyway, so why go through all the trouble?
So disappointing.
My recommendations are to find another service provider if yours isn't supportive, that alone should ease some of your stress. Second, try a different treatment - I had wonderful luck with TCA - the acid treatment. I liked it because it was painless for me, physically removed them, and seemed to jump start my immune system and caused the rest to clear up. Everyone is so quick to jump for a magic pill to cure everything - our bodies our the best weapon we have. I started with diet, quitting alcohol, vitamins, exercise and then went to medication. I think it made all of the difference. Lastly, and most importantly, find a mental health professional ASAP. If you don't have health insurance or can't go to one, find a local church, etc. with free counseling. You NEED a support system and you need to talk it out with someone other than your boyfriend.
Hang in there and don't give up, I dealt with them consistently for 8 months before they subsided, i know it feels like forever, but in the grand scheme of things 4 months is actually not a relatively long time at all for your body to heal something like this - support it in the ways you can such as health, less stress, exercise and try different treatment options. Stay strong!
Since it seems we are in almost the same boat not getting a break let me know if you have any interest in chatting off the board - even if you just need someone else to meltdown with.
On a side note, the last couple if weeks (I just finished week 5) haven't caused itching at all. I have found that if I sleep on my side with my knees together (rather than on my belly with one leg out), it cuts down on the irritation immensely. I highly recommend Aldara.
As for me I'm in the process of clearing a bad case of anal warts. I didn't know I had them because they were all on the inside and I only noticed it when they started to spread to the outside. I had surgery last night and wow... never felt such pain. But a month later I am doing much better. There are still a few on the outside and I have to get a touch up on the inside in the office for a few stray ones but overall I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I have a feeling you are over-stressing because of your relationship. Odds are your partner already has the virus but he doesn't have warts. That's the case w/ mine. No partner of mine has ever had warts. I was going through a *very* stressful event when mine started so I'm certain that stress is a huge factor in this. Most people have this virus, or had it at one time and cleared it. Time is on your side. You need to realize this is only 4 months out of your whole life and the odds are it will go away. Just stay positive and try to live your life. Find ways to play w/ your bf if you want to stay safe but honestly if you are in a committed relationship, it's normal for a couple to just keep having sex since they both already have it as long as it isn't directly rubbing/irritating the warts itself too much.
