My name is Elizabeth. Not sure how I contracted my hpv. Doctors aren't sure yet if it's contracted through french kissing which means I might have had high-risk hpv for about 27 years and didn't know it. I keep wishing I had low-risk hpv (genital warts) but I have to accept my diagnosis and be strong. When I eat a lot of processed food my anxiety goes up because I am fearful of cancer and potential surgery (removal of the cervix). My sister almost died from a hysterectomy. I hope my doctor will detect cancer on other parts of the female anatomy if it happens. I think they freeze the abnormal cells of those areas. I have to stop being afraid of the future and take time to care for me. It's hard for me to cook everyday because I keep thinking of everything else I need to do. Hopefully I will start getting into the habit of cooking healthy and it will become easier. I am glad that you and your girlfriend made up and are together. Your low-risk hpv should be dormant in your body eventually because you are so young and your immune system is strong. I heard that the average time is 8 months.

Thanks for the ideas to help with my anxiety and depression. I am feeling a lot better than I was about a week ago. I read some articles about it and how to beat it. Right now I am listening to a mediation CD and keeping busy. I am not able to go for walks right now due to back pain. But, I am seeing a chiropractor every week.

I'm glad you feel like your chosen for something in life. I feel like my life was spared somehow. I decided at the the last minute to get a pap smear and it was only the second one I have ever had! After that they said I could get cervical cancer without surgery, which I then had, and it was a success. My doctor said I might have had cancer within two years. I hope the best for you, too!
