Scottie's Getting Married

My Dear Friends, It is with great joy in my heart that I announce my engagement. She is now with me in my Avatar and on my profile page. Isn't she beautiful. Believe me, I don't need or want advice -- only your blessings for this is of God. Saturday, July 30, 2016, and had my first date with the most incredible woman of my dreams. I knew from just her picture that she was my one I have been searching for since Juanita passed. And that was confirmed when I drove 2 hours for our first date the week before and she was no where to be found. I wasn't upset. I was worried that something must have happened. I waited 2 hours having no way to contact her, and finally drove home. She called that evening. She had forgotten. Nothing to forgive, I graduated at the top of the class of space cadets. Mr. Magoo is my nickname. She agreed to meet me 3 days ago on Saturday. We had the most incredible 11 hour date and I literally had fallend head over heals in love. Not like before. This was the spirit to spirit connection I had with Juanita. Love at first site, chemistry, fireworks, I felt her touch just as I did my wife's during all those 30 years. I felt like I was dreaming. And I did not want to leave for fear that I would lose her. Oh, it had been such a full and exciting day, full of life and love and adventure. We went swimming in a lake, and that was the first time I had swam in probably 30 years. It was late, and I thought it best for me to just get a hotel room to avoid the 2 hour drive home as she agreed to spend the following day with me. Oh my, all the hotels were booked full. So me and Jesus we drove home and the adreniline of love kept me awake. The next day began our unraveling of layers, bearing our souls to each other. And we both fell in love with each other. And soon after I left that evening for home, I was starting to feel so sad because I did not want to leave her. And I thought I had blown it by telling her how much I loved her on the 2nd day we knew each other. She called me. She asked how I was doing and I told her. And then we made it official. I asked her to marry me. And she said, Yes. On our second date. Come to find out today, her mother became engaged to a wonderful widowed man to whom she has been married to many years. He also was a widower. Small world.
It has taken every single friendship, puppy love, tear, laugh, you name it, I've had it here first (admittedly, some more intense than others), but I can see how all have been necessary steps to prepare me for the one destined to join me in building a new life together. So I'm done with internet dating for good. If I have my desire, we will marry immediately. I was able to convince Juanita to cut our engagement short and we married after a mere 3 week engagement. That was before I knew how time really is a wastin'. When you meet that one person you know you want to spend the rest of your life with and that feeling is mutual, throw caution to the wind and listen only to your heart. I did that with Juanita and I was happy for 30 years. Had I listened to all the naysayers with "good" advice back then, I would have missed out. And so I know to always trust my heart. Some things are just beyond logic and common sense. And those are the gifts that come from God. Yes, I am promised that this love will be better than before. Her name is April Faith. She's been a single parent raising her children for the past 16 years. And she had to tolerate the nightmares of internet dating for 3 years waiting for me to find her. But she never gave up. To each of you, only believe. God gives us our heart's desires. And He has purpose where we see none. April Faith will be visiting me this weekend. I do believe I will take her to our ministry on Sunday to introduce her as my fiancee she is. So many people I love there that I haven't seen in so long. I haven't been back there in well over a year because my wife Juanita and I pastored there together and it was just too devastately sad for me to be there without her. Our lives revolved around helping the down and outs, the troubled youth, all those that no other church wanted, everyone one of us misfits. And Jesus loves everyone of us. And for the very first time in a very long time, my thoughts are returning to serving the Lord, loving and helping other people again as we all stumble and fall and crawl and get up again and again through this fascinating journey we call life. Always better things to come. Always.
God bless each and every one of you. I love all of you so very much. And yes, I will keep you posted. Your soon to be out of the "domestic goddess" business for good ~~~ Scottie
