I love your phrase, "I was able to pull it all together and support my wife". You were put such a difficult place and you made it. Of course, you will feel unease, this is scary stuff.
Brenda
MUCH LOVE to you pete, your wife, and your nagel who was watching you the whole time. Maybe that was why she was in the same room? To let you know that she is ALWAYS with you and now watching over YOUR BOTH.
xoxoxxoxoxoxoxo LOVE Diane
Hugs,
Paula
I feel so sorry for all you had to go through.... both of you. Scary stuff!!
Thank God you are both doing okay, and I agree with those who suggested that you talk with Susan and express the emotions you experienced! The love you have for her and the future happiness you two will share is all ahead for you both.
Wishing you much love and happiness always!

I can't imagine the trauma you experienced when you received the phone call; then, finding that she was in the exact same cubicle in the Emergency Room as your wife! For a few hours, you certainly must have experienced emotional chaos.
When we survivors suffered the loss of our spouses, the thought of enduring the future alone was overpowering; but we manage to carry on somehow. It is a HUGE dilemma, then, when we make the decision to consider another love in our life. Realistically speaking, there could be another loss in our future. That thought as well as additional extreme life changes scared the heck out of me. It was something that Dan (Daninmn) and I discussed many times at the beginning of our relationship: "Were we willing to place ourselves in that vulnerable situation?" I'm sure that scenario is discussed between those considering another love many, many times.
The posts on HH show without a doubt that the conclusion of many—once the heart begins to heal—is that when love is discovered once again the chance is worth taking. Pete, your contributions along the way of your new love inspired many to look to the future with a Hopeful Heart. So very happy that all is well with your wife. No doubt it will take a bit for you to calm yourself regarding the anxiety of the flashback; however, in so many big and small ways we are reminded how very fragile our futures are and that each day is magical and to be cherished. Blessings to you as you live out your new dreams. TJ
Even with the scare, love is worth the risk!
Hugs, -Pete-
