HOPEFUL HEARTS...LIVING AGAIN AFTER THE LOSS Community Group
We are a group of people who have grieved the loss of a spouse, partner, or lover and are searching for a life without our mate. Some looking for their own identity as an individual or finding a life for themself. Some looking for companionship or a serious relationship with someone new. And some just feeling lost and unsure. We offer encouragement, support and virtual...
I have done plenty of those roaring "releases" in my house at the beginning stage, scaring my neighbors to death.
Luckily I later learned to channel it into lots of physical activities - it looks more normal screaming hitting the tennis ball full force. I sing very load when I need to get rid of some pressure, and I dance Zumba just to get my body totally tired.
Suppressed for a long time it can jump out unexpectedly; plan for the time and place to get it done, because it needs to be done.
Big hug
I like the chorus idea :)
The anxiety can get the best of me if I don't keep a handle on it:
-Look around you.
-Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste.
This is called grounding. It can help when you feel like you lost all control of your surroundings.
Stay strong, Hugs, Sandi
I toyed with the idea of buying a punching bag and gloves at one point.
I did try working out, until my heart problems were taking hold. Strangely, since the heart attack, I'm feeling more peaceful. Not sure why.
I wrote a lot of letters to people with a lot of very foul language, which I later burned.
I think we've all been there, or if we haven't, it may be coming!
One important thing I learned - let it out! If you don't, it festers, and may 'leak out' at inappropriate times, against the wrong people.
I like Sandi's suggestions too.
I just dont think I know what makeup to put on after a good scream ; I dont know if i am a "spring" "summer" "autumn" or "winter" :)
