Hives Support Group
Hives is a relatively common form of allergic reaction that causes raised red skin welts. These welts can range in diameter from 5 mm (0.2 inches) or more, itch severely, and often have a pale border. Urticaria is generally caused by direct contact with an allergenic substance, or an immune response to food or some other allergen. Hives can also be caused by stress.

I short intro first because I am new here.... to the Hive group anyway. It started with aquagenic hives when I was 10 then over the years I added pressure hives, contact hives, dermatographism, etc..... As a kid my parents ignored it or would say "Oh isn't that wierd"... if you were not dying you did not need a doctor.... I brought it up with doctor through the years but no one had a solution except for anti histamines..... Thank god for Zyrtec.. it at least got rid of the aquagenic hives.. but I still deal with the others....
Anyway, my question is: I've been looking through some of the older posts and no one mentions ice as a remedy.... Not long term obviously but when I have a bad breakout Ice is the only thing that calms it.... sometimes I'll get a breakout like on one calf... there will be so many it looks like poisen oak and you can feel the heat coming off the skin.... and I can use an ice pack for 15 minutes and they slowly dissipate... if not for the ice they will stay for hours.... If they are diffuse (all over my body) and nothing works I can take an ice bath and they start to get better...
Anyone else do this?

No I dont dont use the ice, but maybe I will try it, I suffer from aquagenic urticaria and I saw an allergist today and maybe I have to take IVIG treatment because it so severe, so I hope that will help me, but like I said I will try the ice, I have nothing to lose lollllllll

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
