I took 500mg magnesium with Atripla for over 3 months.
According to my HIV Specialist, there is not known
Interaction or advert reaction from taking Atripla and Magnesium
together.
I took it for so long because I was too afraid to feel any of the debilitaring side effects I had since I started Atripla.
It's been 7 months since I stopped taking Magnesium along with Atripla and I feel great!!
My T-Cells went from 300 to 587 in less than a year and my virus-load is undetectable!
The side effects were overwhelming before magnesium but since then I haven't had any problems to report.
Please let me know if you need the brand of Magnesium I took.
Best of luck,
Here in the UK our Natioanl Health Service info website states t hat Magnesium sulphate MAY react with Atripla and advises to check with medical practitioner.
Not a huge amount of help - but an indication that there may be a probelm. I've only ever been advised to avoid takingEchinacea but I know other people who do and haven't had any problems - so a lot of differing opinions on all these issues.
Yes, i did take Magnesium together with Atripla at the same time, but if your side effects are already diminishing and at a manageable levels i'd suggest to just wait a week or so and see if they vanished all together.
Remember, everyone react differently to treatments in general, because we all have different body compositions. There is not a fit all treatment.
Take care,
Please keep me posted on your progress,
Best,
