I just found out about my status last night so Ive known for 14 hours and I'm only 25!I'm due to start my meds today .Its a lot to take in but there's so much hope .We have every right to aspire towards whatever our hearts desire because HIV is not a death sentence .It is a warning to live better and be healthier .

Hello, i havent been diagnosed yet but i have a feeling that i might be. Did you have any symptoms?

Hello all! Maybe my words may or maynot help, although I can relate with you all. It's hard, but definitely feasible to live amazing lives with HIV. I am currently undetectable and have been since 2014. I am 27yrs. I was diagnosed at the age of 6 and had full blown AIDS until 24yrs. While some days are both physically and emotionally hard, many others I forgot I have an illness. The meds out now are amazing and lol actually work. (Just find a doctor who actually cares about you and feel free to shop around lol for doctors. Don't settle!). Despite some days of extreme fatigue. I still traveled the world, got two masters degrees, lived abroad, am working as chef and teacher, dated, had my hand asked for marriage ( he wasn't positive, but also not the right person for me), have friends and family who love and treat me just like everyone else. I dance, laugh and cry sometimes, but I remember there is hope and crazy enough with my experiences, I've seen how life with this virus does get easier each and every day. Grace and Peace!

Thank you so much to all of you for your support. It's been almost 2 months now and soon I'll be undetectable. Every day is progress but sometimes I feel like no one knows how I feel and seeing replies on this discussion really soothes me. Some days are easier than others but every single day is worth living. We are all fighters and will not let this virus get the better of us. Thank you all so much and know that I'm here anytime anyone feels alone.

Hey, i know how you feel. Everyday it is a constant struggle with being okay and then having a breakdown. Today is my bad day. I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago and I just turned 21 years old. It’s a lot for me to handle. I started medication about a week ago and it’s going well. But emotionally I’m stuck with the fact that I am in AIDS status. I know the guy that gave it to me and i have to see him every Saturday when i go to the barbershop. I really needed to be apart of a group that knows how it feels.

I have been pos about 15 years, i was diagnosed when i was 35 and at first i did not know how to react, but really in those 15 years from an hiv perspective ive be fine, i did have cancer related to the hiv years ago but that was dealt with and not had any problems since, hope you enjoy a life as normal as possible, it certainly can be done xx

Hello! I was diagnosed positive in 2018. I was single at the time I was diagnosed and within 5 months I met someone who accepted me and my diagnosis and we've been together ever since! I would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Well looking at the future i have been positive for coming up to twenty years, and i have had a normal what ever that is life, never had a bad word said to me over my hiv, and im fine, the only thing i have slowed down but HIV does add 10 years to your age, so if you have an off day just think your are ten years older .
