is anyone using medicare to pay for HIV meds?
My wife informed me that we are paying way to much money
to keep me on her insurance at work. We are paying $400.00
a month just for me on her insurance ,
I have medicare but it is so dam confusing to use,
Part a, b, c, d, and none of it is explained very clearly,
Getting prescription coverage for atripla is very hard when it cost $1,000 per month, yes that's right the pharmaceutical companies
charge that much for it., thanks to my insurance I only pay $30.00
out of pocket.
Please if any one can give me some information on this it would be
very much appreciated.

When my late Wife was trying to figure out how to juggle Medicare/Medicaid & live through Cancer, Chemo & many many DR's visits ( so much more than HIV Meds ), yes, it was so so confusing. There is less confusing times ahead Dave, lets chat a little further & see what we can figure out. One thing I can remember is that there was a window of non coverage. But that Dave is when Ryan White can help. It's a process that has to be re-evaluated every 6 months. ( protocol, but manageable ), & a pain in the a--. But manageable. I actually know someone that can help in CA, but it will be a change as to what you are accustomed to currently. I am on SSI and have been for 3 yrs now.
I started out on SSDI because of COPD I was forced to retire at
a 50 yrs old,Unable to work anymore.
