Over the past while I have been distraught and riddled with worry about whether or not I have HIV because I keep getting sick. I have always had a sore throat, thrush like symptoms on my tongue. etc.....
I have some friends, who are single and when they break up with somebody the automatically get an HIV test done. I personally have had 3 done on my life and never caught on to routinely getting tested.
In 2002, I had my 1st daughter and was negative. I then left an abusive relationship. The next year I started a relationship with a man who seemed good in the start but he started getting abusive and would yell at me. He went to the doctor in Dec 2003 due to health issues and he was told it was bowel cancer and some lung cancer. He went to get treatment in hospital Jan 2004 and then on again, off again. He still worked and didn't seem that drained. My family and friends were suspicious of him and said that they strongly believed that he was not diagnosed with Cancer.
During the latter part of the relationship he became more abusive and would stay out late so I couldn't reach him. He stole money from my daughter's piggy bank for smoke money and he racked up a lot of parking tickets on my car PLUS 2 speeding tickets as well.
I wonder if he was actually diagnosed with HIV and did not tell me at all. I felt strange within for a while. I dumped him in Oct 2004.
In Sept 2005, I had some illnesses that the doctors couldn't explain
and then again this year. I seem to be getting ill often and I worry about my immune system.
I am convinced that I am HIV positive. All the tests that they did on me all came out negative and I really think HIV would be the answer to my immune problems.
Another thought is that I have been in a stable relationship for almost 3 years now. We did have a daughter last year. I asked him - since his sexual life started if he had an HIV test done. He said no.
We both went to the docs today and have requistion papers for an HIV test in our hands and will be going soon to get tested.
I am beside myself and he boyfriend thinks I'm crazy. I have valid concerns and have done some research into things. I am hardly ever wrong in things.....
Maybe right now I need thoughts and prayers to put my ghost to rest.....

I wonder what the ongoing health ailments are for an HIV + person....I need to educate myself as well to combat the fear.
I was on health link last night and talked to a jrse and my illogical reasoning is that when I was with my last ex back in 2003-204 and he was diagnosed with cancer ( though I'm not sure)...I thought the chemicals they pumped into my body would give me HIV - which is far from the truth of how it is actually transmitted etc. He said that he didn't have it but I think I was extremely naive back then - trusting with all my heart but not taking a realistic approach and doing things via my head.
On monday, I'll be arranging for preresults counseling to help me through this time because it is what I need.
I really hope the care and medical services are good here.

I believe in the cause of safer sex and to prevent the spread of it. I have learned just how important it is to go for routine tests.
