Well, I don't like to travel very much although recently I went to California & also Peru. I'm always glad to be home. You are a different age group than I am & you say you are feeling bored at home. I don't know if you live in a city or a small town. If you like to read, you can always sit in a park with a book. Maybe go walking every day? Can you join a book club where you could meet other people? What about a volunteer job ... something you are really interested in? That would be another place to meet other people with a shared interest.

Hi, thanks for those ideas ;)) but i am not a resident of US. I live in a small country, so the meet up group, a little hard. However, the volunteer job seems quite interesting. How do I do to know where they are needing people. They don't post it in add or internet over here.

Anyway, more ideas are fully welcome. I do not like shopping too much. Yes, I will try borrowing books and do some reading. It's been quite a long time.

it is too bad that the university gym is too far and too crowded.Any other place that you can go to that is a gym or like a gym and a low cost or free?
How about swimming? Or going to a movie-movies.
Or roller skating, do they have that or rollerblading in a park path

about the volunteering, you could maybe call places like hospitals, assisted living.nursing homes, animal shelters, any social services agencies that you could call?

I've been trying to figure out, also, what I can do at home to make it feel like a vacation, since we can't afford one and hubby can't get away from work.

Today I was thinking about making a nice vaca spot in my backyard. I was going to make is special, put cut flowers there and a nice lounge chair with padded towels and pillows and just read novels until I can't stand it anymore haha. Also, you could give yourself mani/pedis to yourself, or sign up to give them to nice ladies in the nursing homes (well, nothing invasive, just painting fingernails). Some kind of volunteer work like someone mentioned earlier.

Also, one thing that you might consider is trying online training for anything you wish to know. For example, I'm in the digital graphics industry and there is a wealth of online training for just about any software you wish to learn. It's about $25 a month. Those sorts of things can look very impressive on a resume, say, if you are the only applicant who knows Microsoft Excel. If you are interested, try Lynda.com.

Thanks for these wonderful ideas. I'll stick to something that I really love to do like sports. And mechebelle, not a bad idea, i am already in the software development world, so it's really great to do that.
