Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...
Peoples moods do affect me, and it's like you say even positive things get you overwhelmed.
And the negative moods of others is hard to deal with.
I was told too, that I would toughen up... change in time, but like you say,,I think I will always be this way.
If we could change though, would we want to really? I dont know if I would want to be any different?
If someone is in a positive, happy mood, I love it and I love being around a person like that! It is such an uplifting experience for me. I feel like I am blessed when I am in the presence of someone like this. It makes my day better and happier and I am happy on all levels. Amazing these extremes!
For here you learn that Patience is always needed to "Endure the Truth"
Remember the old saying ....."To thine own Self be True"
I know exactly what you mean(I think). You said one thing that caught my attention. You said,"I really don't care about my own feelings..." I'm learning that the same care and sensitivity that we give to others, it can be really helpful to give it to ourselves. Perhaps that's something you can work on. It sounds cliche but loving oneself can help you feel and manage better...and it's something I'm continually learning...but it helps. Your feelings are just as important and that doesn't mean you'll be insensitive to others...just more sensitive to yourself. I hope I didn't misread what you said but that's what I thought. We need our own sensitivity too.
I send you love and strength. Now, go look in the mirror and tell the person you see there staring back at you that you love her!!!!!
Hugs and Blessings....
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is to deep inside and is difficult to see or hear the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."
