Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...
we are here to support you in your interrogations and sometimes just support you.
i am currently doing a lot of researches on HSP, and what I found is you are born HSP :
It seems the nervous system is slightly more developped and transmit more information to the brain, the brain then process more information than it should, when you add both of it, it is the reason why you get easily overwhelmed.
There are also different kind of HSP: some live it pretty well, some can struggle sometimes, and some are really not able to manage it.
if someone is only hyperemotive or has ptsd, he will probably have a lot in common with HSP.
i would say to you to keep looking into HSP as you are going to find amazing things giving you explanations about everything which happened in your life.
And an important thing i just discovered is you have to find and fix all the traumatics events you got in your life, small or important, to live well as an HSP.
at first I have to say I'm feeling so sorry for what you had to endure. I must admit that I don't know how to react in a good way, but I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that you had to experience such horrible things. (I hope my reaction isn't inappropriate.)
As for your question: I agree with Nor. You're born with it. I think therefore traumata can affect you even more.
In general you can grow with your experiences and find out ways to cope easier with (at least "normal") difficulties. (But I don't think that it could ever be easy to cope with such traumata without a huge effort.)
