You may want to go to an Al-Anon meeting which is for people who are involved with alcoholics. I've been in several alcoholic relationships and I don't advise being intimately involved in one. Your girlfriend needs much help that is beyond anybody but a mental health professional. While it is hard cutting the strings chalk up this relationship as a learning experience and keep trucking w/o looking back. Easier said than done. Concentrate on yourself and your children. Being an HSP such a relationship will drain you in so many ways. Hope this helps and good luck!

I agree with everything katzenmother, has said. I will also add that seeing a counselor on your own would be helpful in seeking healthy individuals in your future and knowing what you want in your life.

I do understand what you are talking about as I worked many years with Spousal Abuse. No easy answers to your problem. You need to be strong and walk away from this relationship as it will be nothing but a heartache for you. This is a sick relationship. Go for help if you can not do it on your own. There is an addiction in a sick relationship as you feel she needs you. Perhaps the addiction is you believe you can help her: which is false thinking. This is talking to your EGO. Drinking and violence are a very bad mix. You can not cure her.

Im ready to start...
