Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...
I like what you have written. I never thought of every 'no' as a 'yes' and every 'yes' as a 'no'. I am saying 'yes' to myself when I tell someone else 'no.' And, if they tell me 'no', it is a 'yes' for me to do something else and take care of myself.
I think I needed to hear this message today! Wow!!!!
Thank you!!!!!!
Strangely enough, the person who said it was Troy Donohue (not sure if I've spelled that correctly) the guy who finds missing family members. I think he has a show on A&E but he was a guest on the Nate Berkus show talking about how to balance business, home and family.
Powerful!
I'd rather be enjoying "My" time, and not have to have expectations when I go somewhere. Happiness is...
taking care of ourselves!
Once I knew that there wasn't anything wrong with me and this is what was going on, it has helped me to be ok with those qualities that I thought were something to change or be rid of.
What I am trying to say is, I may have not wanted to go to a party or some social thing, but didn't really know why, I always thought 'what the hell is wrong with me' and so I may have said no i didn't want to go, but thought I was being mean, anti social, a kiljoy, that I was weird etc....etc.....but now i can say no and not feel guilty, not chastise myself and I understand why i don't want to go. Or I may have said yes and go because I felt that I ought to go because being quiet at home on New Year's Eve is not 'normal'. It's amazing how I didn't know myself too well or was not comfortable with myself.
So perhaps knowing that you are an introverted person, or an HSP can really open up the door for us to be more confident in saying yes for ourselves.
