Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...
It is a fact that HSP is linked to anxiety. I control my stress since I was a teenager but I have to say anxiety works in a very different way and I am not able to control it.
But it seems it is linked to the mood, I don't get anxiety when I am feeling well.
I can give you an example of the supidity of being an HSP and having anxiety:
Around may/june, when it rains, all the snails get out of their hidden home and go most of the time the other sode of the walking path.
Two years ago, i was walking from the cinema, and I saw this, all the snails going from one side of the path to the other, a lot of snails.
As usual, I was very careful not to smash one by walking on it, it is for me painful to kill by accident even insects.
Then a bike goes through the way and you hear all these snails getting smashed by it.
I was in a poor mood and seeing and hearing this almost made me cry and I had to control myself like it does not happen very often just not to think about it. Because when you add the anxiety, the only thing I wanted to do is go back and take all of them one by one to put them in a safe place. It would have been impossible and stupid of course.
Since then, every year, at the same period, each time the snails get out on the path (any path) and I see that, I start to get anxiety. And I am even more afraid than before to smash one by walking on it.
Sometimes you will see people saying that you can control anxiety, that kind of people I want to tell them if you speak this way you never knew anxiety.
It is linked to feelings and therefore it happens sometimes with absolutely no reasons.
