If you study the US heart disease map from the CDC, you will find data from 1996-2000 showing the highest rates of heart disease is along the southern mississippi river, with Mississippi and West Virginia being the worst states for heart disease.
The following year, in 2001, the CDC made a map showing which state had the highest levels of "bad cholesterol." Can you guess which state had the higher levels of bad cholesterol?

When you compare the LDL map from Quest, to the Heart disease map from the CDC, It becomes obvious that there is no relationship between higher LDL levels and heart disease.
