Doc, it can be gotten as a prescription. Also the fish oil did bring down my chol. but not any of the other important things.
I have generic HC and nothing much helps it. Even the statins did not help that much and I do get muscle aches while on them also.
Have you tried diet and exercise? Sometimes it does help. Diet should help the fatty liver, eat lots of green veggies for that. And not drinking alcohol helps too.
Also maybe a second opinion with new eyes. Sometimes a different
person may see something the other has missed.
I do wish you luck, it is a worry.
Its also important to understand a physicians office today is a high pressure sales floor pushing drugs, tests, and procedures. It can be worse than a used car lot on the cheap side of town. The only difference being the physician's office doesn't have flashing neon signs.
Its not about your health or my health. Its all about achieving numbers. Sales numbers. Patient low cholesterol quota. Money. money, money.... and oh, did I mention money?
Once they get you on that drug, you become a number on someone's score card. They don't want the score to drop
, so if you try to discontinue the drug due to side effects, they resort to scaremongering saying you will have a heart attack if you quit.
