A post for the males out there or for loved ones of males on lipitor: has anyone noticed testosterone problems once on lipitor? I've been on lipitor for several years now and, stupid me, I didn't associate the testosterone problems I had been having with taking the drug. I've recently started testosterone therapy in addition to taking lipitor. A quick search on the internet revealed several discussion groups in which anecdotal evidence has been offered suggesting lipitor causes significant testosterone decreases in men; however, there don't appear to be any official studies out there supporting this. I went to see my new GP a few days ago, and she told me I should never have been put on lipitor to begin with since I had high good cholesterol levels which only made my overall cholesterol levels look high, so she wants to gradually take me off it and see how I respond. It's frustrating to think that this whole experience could have been avoided and my testosterone not have taken a nosedive. Any others with similar experiences?
