High Cholesterol Support Group
High cholesterol is the presence of high levels of cholesterol in the blood. It is not a disease but a metabolic derangement that can be secondary to many diseases and can contribute to many forms of disease, most notably cardiovascular disease. If you have high cholesterol, join the community to find support and share your experience.
Welcome to the group of two, you and me. If you look at the other posts in this Board you will see that I am about the only one that has responded to someone's opening post for months. If you are new to DS then you may not know why this Board, and many others, are nearly dead. Many months ago the owners of DS decided to reformat the Board (much needed), unfortunately they made it worse and many members disappeared. The HC Board was always very slow with only a few, very few, folks, but now even most of them have vanished.
If you look at some of the other threads you will see that I have responded to most, but not all posts if the OP's question was out of my experience. Below is a copy and paste from one of my more recent posts, which I think applies in your case. However, since there is no "preview" function on DS, I am not sure if a cut and paste will work (mainly the links). If not, just check a few posts down from yours and you will find the original (4/13/18 post date). Bottomline IMO, your numbers are great and I would love to have a Lipid Panel anywhere near as good as yours. I refuse to take statin because, 1) they are useless, and 2) cause me nonstop pain. I already suffer from chronic pain for unrelated reasons so I do not need any more pain especially one that cannot be controlled. If nothing else, visit spacedoc.com to find a huge supply of good information on this subject. Anyway.....now quoting myself....
There is so much BS going around about cholesterol and almost all of it is garbage. You really need to do some work reading about this whole issue if just being told that your cholesterol is high worries you.
First, buy and read "The Great Cholesterol Myth" by Dr. Stephen Sinatra and Jonny Bowden, Ph.D. They are true experts in their respective fields (cardiologist, and nutrition).
For a free and a very detailed website, visit "spacedoc.com". There is a huge amount of information at that site, Sadly, the founder of the site, "Dr. Duane Graveline, M.D." died several months ago from the side effects of Lipitor forced on him by his last employer; NASA, Therefore, I am not sure who is keeping tabs on this site now, but all the data is still there. https://spacedoc.com/
