High Cholesterol Support Group
High cholesterol is the presence of high levels of cholesterol in the blood. It is not a disease but a metabolic derangement that can be secondary to many diseases and can contribute to many forms of disease, most notably cardiovascular disease. If you have high cholesterol, join the community to find support and share your experience.
That is a real trick with all the misinformation that is spread around starting with our government, politics, drug companies, and poorly educated doctors (no independent continuing education except from drug pushers). A person really needs to dig deep through all the BS to get to the truth.
For those people who like to read, below is a link to a new book that is a real eye opener about how medical studies are conducted and the results twisted to get the facts desired by whoever is preaching a specific diet. This book goes far beyond the cholesterol debate BTW. The author has no agenda, just an excellent researcher of research studies. Well worth the money.

One thing my dad drilled into my head before he died. "If its to good to be true, it probably is."
Statins were created to meet the high market demand to lower cholesterol. After a few decades passed the cholesterol theory began to have flaws. The market soon would change.
The inflammation theory began to take center stage. When this new inflammation theory took root, guess what? "Oh statins fix that too." Ya right.
Next came claims that statins stabllize plaque to prevent it from breaking off and causing a heart attack. Wow! They do that too!
ITS A MIRICLE!!!
But wait! There's more! Statins prevent heart failure, cancer and do a host of other wonderful things!
Is this starting to sound familiar with all the other cons out there? It should. Hair tonics that promise to grow hair. Bogus weight loss pills. Tonics guaranteed to cure whatever illness you have.
"If its too good to be true, it probably is" You don't need a masters degree in physiology to understand statins. All we need to do is open our eye's, look closer, and realize something doesn't add up here.
