High cholesterol is the presence of high levels of cholesterol in the blood. It is not a disease but a metabolic derangement that can be secondary to many diseases and can contribute to many forms of disease, most notably cardiovascular disease. There is a suggested protein intake from US govt of about 1 g/kg of body weight per day. So my weight works out to 70 kg and thus my 65 grams of protein is pretty close to recommended amount.
So triglycerides are always high from eating too many carbohydrates. Your liver changes the carbs to triglycerides and then stores the triglycerides as fat all over your body. You can bring them down by reducing the carbs and compensating with extra healthy fats. Add a gram of flax oil to each meal you eat. Also add 3 - 5 grams of sunflower seeds to each meal. reduce the oatmeal you eat in the morning to 20 grams dry weight. Compensate for the calories by adding in raisins, walnuts and blueberries, goji berries. Top it off with soy milk instead of dairy milk. Eat soy meat substitutes instead of the fried chicken. Fried meats contain Advanced Glycation End products (AGE's) that will increase your rate of aging and also contain damaged oils that are unhealthy fats. You can tell because chicken grease solidifies at room temp. Healthy fats are all liquid at room temp. If you're still hungry snack on nuts like walnuts, cashews or peanuts and raisins. Tossed salads are good. Also some fruit is good, but avoid fruit juice. caio KS
