High Cholesterol Support Group
High cholesterol is the presence of high levels of cholesterol in the blood. It is not a disease but a metabolic derangement that can be secondary to many diseases and can contribute to many forms of disease, most notably cardiovascular disease. If you have high cholesterol, join the community to find support and share your experience.
I take two or three asprin a day. Not sure how much it's helping things though.
It is used in those at high risk and/or those who have Coronary Artery Disease/Stroke to help THIN the blood to help PREVENT the blood from sticking to the plaque in arterial walls that could cause an occlusion which may lead to a heart attack or stroke.
If prescribed by a Doc, the Doc may order either a baby aspirin, or a whole aspirin. You need to check with your Doc BEFORE instituting Aspirin therapy, even though it's over the counter.
And, if on Aspirin therapy, one should not use Aspirin as a pain reliever, try to choose another pain reliever instead...otherwise you end up thinning your blood too much...Talk to your Doc about other pain reliever options, such as Tylenol, which does not have blood thinning properties.
Again, Aspirin has NOTHING to do with Cholesterol....BUT, those of you with HIGH Cholesterol are at risk for Coronary Artery Disease...so it might be a worthwhile discussion to have with your Doc...
Have you tried that??
Enteric Coated ones come in the Baby strength and Full Strength Aspirin.

If you think your having a heart attack, you can take an asprin CHEW it up and swallow it, will stop one. Do not swallow it whole, it has to be chewed up and swallow to work. Ask your Doctor, that is who told me to do it. Plus I work in the medical field.
