High Blood Pressure Support Group
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a medical condition wherein the blood pressure is chronically elevated. Persistent hypertension is one of the risk factors for strokes, heart attacks, heart failure and arterial aneurysm, and is a leading cause of chronic renal failure. My 'opinion' really counts for squat here!!
You should see your doctor and discuss this with him or her.
Having added that caveat to my reply, I think your numbers are pretty good!!!
MY doctors consider 130 over 80 to be the high end of perfectly normal.
I see a primary care doctor and a nephrologist, as I have Chronic Kidney Disease, which both causes high blood pressure and is worsened by it, so controlling my blood pressure is important.
(As is yours.)
I take my blood pressure 3 times a day.
I took my numbers to an appointment I already had made with my primary care doctor, and asked her if I should let my nephrologist know about them, as some of them were a bit high and I'm not due to see my nephrologist until March.
The high numbers were like '138 over 72', '144 over 80', '135 over 77', etc.
But MOST of my numbers were along the lines of '126 over 77', 123 over 78', and '120 over 80', which is where the doctors want them.
I told my primary care doctor that I'd like to see the numbers be a little bit better and she looked them over and said that they're pretty good and unless they suddenly started going up and staying up, it's fine to wait until March to have them reevaluated.
When all is said and done, you really should see what your doctor thinks, but I think your numbers are damn good!!
Good luck!!!
