Anyway, I also have high BP. I bought a BP monitor but it is not totally accurate. I had to make an appointment to have my BP checked last week because it was elevated and I was concerned. The NP told me that the BP meds most likely do not last a full 24 hours which was surprising because that means that the last few hours before taking your daily meds, your BP would most likely be elevated. She told me that if I took my meds at 3PM, that I should check again at around 7PM with my own BP monitor.
It took my doctor way too long to get my BP in range. The meds had to be adjusted several times before we were satisfied that we had the correct dosage.
Hope this helps.
I also eat at home and not out except once a week, so I can control my sodium intake. I'm VERY sensitive to salt - no pizza ( especially pepperoni)!!
