I have high BP and I am taking two medications for that. My grandmother died of a massive stroke at the age of 43 due to her high BP. She lived on a farm was morbidly obese and I am sure there weren't the types of medications that are available now. She died 70 years ago. I heard that my great grand mother also died of a stroke at an early age. Taking two BP meds have kept my BP is a very good range. I do not smoke or drink due to the fact that both my parents were alcoholics. I am 75 years old. I just had a complicated total hip replacement a few months ago and I have had 3 DVT's and I am on a blood thinner for life. I am grateful that there are meds to handle all my health issues. I would never have tried to use supplements to lower my BP because I did not want to end up like my grandmother.
