I take 2.5 mg of enalapril in the evening and mine is usually 116/60.
It does get higher when I am anxious though. I don't think I will ever go off of it. You are doing great bmason. Have you lost weight also.
I lost around 8 more pounds and that sure helps with the BP.
Diet really does have a huge impact! I changed my diet totally about a year ago. I used to be on blood pressure medication but I take none now. I eat no junk food, low carb, high in vegs and fruits. I feel great but one thing worries me. My blood pressure is now a bit too low I think. This morning it was 98/54! It tends to be around the 100/60 level mostly. I measure every day.
I take no medications at all, I do half an hour's exercise daily and my weight has stabilised at 10 stones, I lost 3 stone over the past year due to far better diet. I know the potassium content of my diet is having a powerful effect and I never feel dizzy or anything.
Is it safe though for bp to often be 90/60 or thereabouts?
I would recommend any of you on here talk to your doctor about coming off pills if your diet is now doing the trick for you. Never come off by yourself without the doctor knowing though please. I just wanted to omit the side effects of the pills and get my health naturally balanced.
