High Blood Pressure Support Group
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a medical condition wherein the blood pressure is chronically elevated. Persistent hypertension is one of the risk factors for strokes, heart attacks, heart failure and arterial aneurysm, and is a leading cause of chronic renal failure. Doctors recommend weight loss and regular exercise as the first steps in treating mild to moderate...
I know from experience that when you have an injury the blood changes somewhat, which is what is probably happening to you. Last June I fell and had a really good injury to my knee where several layers of skin were scraped off I crushed something in my knee to where it makes popping noises now. Anywho, that same day that I fell, I was supposed to donate plasma. I did, but the next time I came in they wouldn't let me donate because the blood sample from the day I fell had abnormal protein levels in it. I had to wait a 2-3 weeks before I could donate again. So that's why I'm thinking if you give it a few days to get back to normal, your blood pressure probably will settle down also.
Just keep doing what you were doing before. Good job on that, by the way!
I have cut out snacks and lost weight.
I cycle to work when it is not freezing or raining to hard but my blood pressure is high even on medication.
Maybe it just takes a while.
When I was going to the cardiologists and sitting in the room where all the pictures of artieries and posters about having your limbs cut off, loosing your kidneys, going on dyalisis etc... My BP was extremly high (180/120) and as soon as I would leave there and go home or even to a supermarket with a BP monitior, it would be back down to 150/90 or even lower.
I was having trouble regulating my bp and I can't give you any secret cures but I will tell you what has helped me. When ever I give blood my bp crashes to around 106/65 it doesn't stay there long but it does drop! Restless sleep seems to rise the bp, maybe not the next day especial, but slowly for a few days. And getting good rest doesn't lower it quickly but will effect it in a few days. avoiding sugar has helped me more than a little. Physical activity helps lower it. Deep breathing helps as well. I can't say that any of these are a cure but together they help. The old saying about eating right, getting your rest, and moderation in every thing you do worth trying. I haven't giving up on finding that magic bullet yet .
