Will my HS worsen? stage 1 and confused

I have recently been diagnosed with HS- have been living with the condition for a year now. I am 27 and currently in stage 1 of the disease. I have one lesion on my left thigh (groin). So far, ive had 3 surgeries that have not been successful as it has come back everytime. Actually, since the appearance in oct 2011, its always been flaring up and its about 2 cm long.

Ive come here to basically get more info on the condition and to see how other deal with it. I now understand that it will get worse? From waht I have read.

Can anybody tell me if they are in stage 1 and been in stage one for a while or will it eventually spread and worsen. Do I have a chance to stay at this stage (I lesion) or am I doomed lol? I know I will have this for the rest of my life but im scared and dont know what is going to happen to me. What can I expect?

Hi, I have been in stage one for over two years, and I am sadly getting what I believe to be little ones in my armpit now, but not completely sure. I have never had one open, have to be lanced, etc. and think this is not the reality for most. I was diagnosed with the first bump, and somehow keep them from opening or needing to be lanced with alternating in shower with Hibiclens/anti-bacterial body wash (every shower), and applying Rx Clindamyicin foam when I have a bump. I also take a lot of hot baths and allow my skin to breathe for a while after each shower.

I stopped wearing underwear years ago, as I swear the rubbing was making new bumps:)

I have not had to have a surgery, but I read all the stories here as well, and I am so afraid of what is to come:( I think I am going to start using the crystal deodorant soon also.

I am 33, female and obese. Thats my story. but just know that you are not alone in your fears:) Keep your head up and try whatever you can to stop those bumps in their tracks (literally)!

I was at a stage one for almost 9 years. Then during my pregnancy I went to stage two. But thank god its very mild right now compared to what it has been! For underarms use dove deodorant. I started using it after my right underarm had a flare. My left.underarm thank god is still untouched by hs. I believe friction is my.enemy. Anytime I wear jeans my fat belly gets bumps on the pant line. My.thighs and groi breakouts are in areas of "high traffic" where they rub together. im 25, obese, but trying to.lose weight.
