I have very thin hair. I was wondering if that has anything to do with having HS? Is thin hair a result of small hair follicles? Does that mean I am more likely to have HS or worse HS? What kinda hair do you have?

I was am still taking MSM, Biotin and Silica before and after HS and I'm attributing any changes to my hair (diameter, texture, dryness,etc) to age.

Those 3 supplements have worked very well in combination with non-sulfate shampoos and Co-washing (using very mild conditioner) to cleanse my hair and scalp in between using shampoos.

I've got very thick, curly hair and I've noticed that my HS is horrible because of it. I've been taking turmeric and that seemed to stop the cysts.

My body hair is thin and blonde, but the hair on my head is thick if that makes any sense. Even without shaving my armpits because of HS the hair is pretty sparse....

I have thick, rough, sloppy black hair & in great quantaties. I'm known around my neighborhood as "The Guy with the Big Hair" I have an afro thats bigger than my head and I've spoken with people with soft, thin, blonde hair who get HS breakouts much worse than I. Its a good question...i really don't know.

Sometimes I wonder if it really matters.

My hair is dark brown and very fine. I also use turmeric & zinc. I take 1000mg turmeric every night before bed & add 50mg zinc every couple days. Since taking the turmeric I have seen a drastic decrease in the number/size of eruptions. I have also found that if I can keep my nether regions shaved I have less eruptions as well. Good luck!

My hair is thick, and it grows very fast, even for a 35 year old that isn't pregnant. My hair grew even faster during pregnancy, due to all the hormone changes. But then again all my body hair grows fast. I can use a depilatory cream at nite, and by the next afternoon, sometimes sooner, I have stubble already. I've always been this way, even as a teen back when I didn't have HS and could actually shave.
There are just so many aspects to this disease, that is why so many different things work for some many different people. Most likely it's just another piece in , what seems to be, a never ending puzzle.

I am 62...Hypothroid major stress in my life. I am losing my hair on top of my head, the man area. It is very sad indeed. My hair is fine and strawberry blond with some gray thrown in. David you are lucky you are a man. I am not digging losing my hair. I think between the thyroid and my stress, I am screwed.

How are you doing back at work?????????????????
