I tried and it only got worse. I'm of the opinion that we're experiencing a symptom caused by different things from person to person so pretty much any treatment but surgical removal (in the short term) is going to be hit or miss.

hormones are the culprit for me. No flare ups while pregnant, massive come back after delivery and only superficial/occassional/manageable flare ups for past 4 years by using Mirena IUD. Mirena makes me not have a period so for me no periods = no flare ups. Turmeric helps a little for me but not a game changer. Best of luck!

I think noiradle just nailed it, especially when taking into account the variability of HS.
Some have constant, leaky wounds, while others have long periods of remission until they suddenly get a few extremely painful flare ups.
I'm in the latter group.
I'm having a flare up right now.
I'm fucking pissed.
I've been taking 600 mg of ibuprofen with x2 500 mg paracetamol 3 times daily and I still can't sleep due to the intense pain.
I think I literally need morphine.

I just got done reading that book. I bought The Paleo Cookbook and I'm going to give it a try. I'm hoping to see some results and maybe lose a little weight too.
