OK so I have had hs since I was 14 I am now 29. I was diagnosed at around 20. I am mild to moderate but this last couple of weeks I have had a bad breakout including an abcess that is really painful. after patience and a lot of pain the abcess has burst which really scared me as there was a lot of blood more then I have had before. does anyone else have a lot of blood loss with there hs? just feeling particularly low about it at the moment so glad I have found this site for support.

I usually don't have a lot of blood loss, but I have before. I know how you feel, I am feeling down about mine right now too. It makes me feel better being able to vent on here though. I just got a new abscess under my armpit and my breast, and usually they are just between my thighs so I'm freaking out about the spreading... :( I am also mild/moderate but I'm just worried about it getting worse. Have you tried any medication? I'm taking doxycycline, it helps but I am still getting breakouts.

I have had antibiotic in the past when I have had bad breakouts. I have had them in my armpits and under my breasts. I had a pretty bad one under my breast last year and yes very painful I admit but nothing compared to my thighs where I get the most like yourself. I don't no if you find the thigh area the worst pain? I have tried all sorts antibiotics creams cutting things out of my diet I have even lost 4 stone but nothing seems to help. I also have a lot of migraines. The first Meds I took for them made my break outs worse haha. How long have you had hs?

Hi, I cut off dairy mostly milk, baked potatoes, bread... Mostly the things you can associate with starch or consider 'inflamatory' for ex. chicken wings and it really helped me.

It took about 5-6 months to see some real changes but It's been almost 2 years that I don't have any abcess and my previous lumps are now just scars. I also stopped drinking soda and start drinking more water..

That's what I did, not how or why but now my hidradenitis is minimum
