Stages-How long?

How long-from personal experiences out there-do you stay in each stage? I am currently in Stage 1 under my arms (complicated with a MRSA infection). On average, how long does each stage last before it progresses to other stages and did yours start in one place and then move elsewhere? How long did that last?

I think the stage thing is an individual thing. some people graduate rather quickly to further staging and others stay the same...I think it depends on the persons immune system, genetics, and how they take care of themselves....Tangerinebear xo

I'm pretty sure I'm a solid stage 2 but I had this 8 or 9 years before it got this bad heck I may be stage 3 but I'm trying to think positive :)

I also think its individualized because unfortunately I got my very first 'bump' a year and a half ago and I am Stage 3 in my underarms or darn close to it. I've had extensive testing and my immune system is supposedly normal, I've tried every pill, cream, med given to me by 2 doctors and 4 dermatologists and I don't neglect my hygiene in any way...

Thankfully I found this forum and now trying regimens others have had success with after giving up on any Dr helping me. Hopefully I can atleast slow the rapid progression I seem to have.

There is no set amount of time it takes to go from one stage to the next. Each person is different. Some people may never get past Stage 1, no matter how long they have had HS. And some folks blaze right past Stage 1 and Stage 2 and plow right into Stage 3.
Me my mother and my half sister all have HS. BUT, neither my mother nor my sister have it as bad as I do. They would be considered Stage 1 and never have more than one once in a blue moon. I am considered Stage 3 and have them in my armpits, inside my left upper arm, buttocks and groin area, and inside my inner left thigh. All areas mentioned have multiple "spots" complete with sinus tracts and tunneling.
I was 19 when I got my first spot, and it was on the inside of my butt cheek. It was quite a long time before I got another one, and when I did it was in my armpit and not in my rear where it had first started. And it was a good while between the time I had my second spot (armpit) and when it finally reared it's ugly head again in my buttocks area.
There is no set time with HS, it develops at it's own pace and is different for everyone.
