New to the site. Need help.

I have done some research and really think that I have Hidradenitis Suppurativa. My doctor told me that my knot (boils) are from friction but I get them a lot now. Most of them get really huge and hurt so much. I sometimes have trouble walking or sitting. I would appreciate talking to people with the same problem. What treatments have worked for you? I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow for a diabetes check up and i want to talk with her about treatments for these painful knots. Thanks!

Welcome to the group! I have had HS since I was 12(I am now 27)

It is definitely a difficult disease to deal with and it doesnt always get diagnosed sometimes for quite awhile or it gets misdiagnosed.Someone posted on this site this link http://hs-usa.org/hidradenitis_suppurativa.htm

It really explains HS very well and it would be a good thing to print and take into your doctor.

I get a lot of blackheads around the area that I get boils.Sometimes they open up and sometimes they are just swollen tender bumps.Tea tree oil,neosporin and dove deodorant have given me relief..when I have an open sore the neosporin +pain relief in it really helps the pain go away quickly.A warm bath also helps me.I hope you find relief soon..HS unfortunately does not have a cure yet..but we are all staying hopeful that they will find it one day and I do believe we need to be open and honest with our doctors and help them realize its more common than they think.Many people are afraid of showing anyone what they are suffering with.Anyway I wish you the best! Oh also..I get HS under my arms,breasts,inner thighs,butt and once in awhile my lower belly and hips.

Welcome....we have all tried this and that...take a look at some of the recent posts...maybe you will find something that will help.

I have doctors say the same thing about friction...they just don't know about HS.

Maybe ask about sprinolactone. I have PCOS and type II and it seems to help a bit.

Thank you all so much! I am so glad to have found some people with the same problem. I have always wondered why I got these bumps. i remember having the first one when I was 15 but they have gotten worse over the years. I am going to print out some info to take to my Dr. tomorrow. And I am going to try some of the things you guys have mentioned to help with the pain and hopefully it will help them go away sooner than they do now. Thanks again!
