So I've taken all the antibiotics in the cycline family, mino-, doxy-, tetra, taken bactrum too. Most of these were for severe acne, but it was for many years, and I've even had antibiotics through IV when the HS flare up was so bad. The Antibiotics really didn't make a difference for me, and my case was really severe in several spots. I go to Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. My Dermatologist was very knowledgeable in the HS field. I ended up in Plastics Surgery department with Kaiser and they did an amazing job with the removal of lesions. I don't what kind of insurance you have, but if it's possible to switch I'll give you the name of the doctor that treats me. He's been a godsend from the almost unending medical staff that I've met with.
