hi everyone,
I have just has ld flap surgery on my left armpit, recovery is going really well but because I have been laid on my back a lot a recurrent hs lump (had surgery on it before) has flared up on the base of my spine. it is hurting way more than the wound! does anyone have any ideas on something that will help it either burst or go away?! I'm on two antibiotics so that's not an option just want to be comfy again!

A sitzs bath with hot water as hot as you can stand it until the water cools down. 3 times a day. I just had surgery 3 times in two months, for armpit HS my first time getting it in that area. Armpit area has really hurt more than any other areas. Did you have really bad nerve pain with armpit area?

I'm not allowed to go in the bath yet unfortunately. but could try hot compress? I had complete removal of my armpit then a chunk taken from my back to replace it. but haven't had much pain so far as its completely numb atm but talking about hs in armpit I find far more painful than groin. I am only 4 days post op so fingers crossed nerve pain isn't in my near future!! what surgery did you have?

Groin was painful too. Seem to be armpit that's more painful! I had a abcess that grew I thought I hurt it at work from work. But I was wrong. Drained abcess under my arm pit. You could try a hot compress. Let us know if it helps. Tea tree oil? I hear it works. I have never tried it.

quick update for you all, hs on my spine went the next day after using hot compress and an alginate (seaweed) dressing so I was very relieved, thanks for your treatment ideas :) my surgeon is really happy with my wounds, am seeing him again tomorrow. I advise ld flap surgery to anyone with bad hs in ampits. i know hs could come back but i am really hopeful!

Hello All,
My son has HS. Both armpits are affected and his left arm above his elbow. As a Mother, I wish I could take this disease from him and deal with it for him. His doctor wants him to be seen by a plastic surgeon for a consult. If any has have success in treating this disease by surgery please send me s response.

My prayers go out to you all coping with HS. Stay positive.

RoseHolmes: Yes! Plastic surgery is the way to go! I'm trying to get appointment for a plastic surgeon. So hopefully everything will be ok. Had 4 surgeries. Just not healing. I've had 2 plastic surgery for 2 skin grafts. I healed fast. Hope the plastic surgeon helps your son.

Depends on how bad it is, if it's infected and if it's not healing. May require more than 1 surgery. Might need to be removed and plastic surgery.
