I wear men's shirts. The are longer in the sleeves which helps cover up scars. They are a little looser as well. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you. As far as the itching? Is the itching from the med itself? Is this the topical med? I had a topical med I used and had to quit because of the burning. Back then I had to shave because I was younger and you know how that goes, but now that I am older and nobody sees my pits, I don't unless I am going swimming. :) Even then they don't see them because I hold my arms down at all times. Hopefully, you find something that works. *hugs*

Yes hydroxzine it's a prescription medication you have to get from your doctor. it comes in 50 mg Doses and it does have calming effects so I'm not totally against using this at least once a day and sometimes I try cortisone creams but it doesn't really help lidocaine sometimes help but that's also you have to get from a doctor

You spouse to wear loser clothes try getting shirt in the next size if you wear small in shirt get med tbh i wear my pjs and my hubby shirt around the hpuse or a tink top its very loss

How does the clindamycin work for you? I use the same thing and I see some difference but itll just come back.

The clindamycin seems to work to make appearance better but I think that's what's causing the itching and burning. I'm supposed to take it twice a day and right now I'm only doing once a day max. A warm wet washcloth seems to help with the itching!!

Thank you for your post about itching with HS. I have mild HS mostly in my groin, and also under my arms. I have been struggling with the itching and want to know from others if this is an HS symptom for you. I itch in my groin, inner thighs, and armpits regularly. The HS itches even though it is under the skin. When i get an abcess, then the itch in that area remains with added shooting nerve-like zaps of pain.
Also, I sweat more in these areas, with unpleasant odor, and all my clothes get stained in the armpit area over time.
For this post, I am mainly wanting to hear from other HS sufferers if you also have itching related to your HS to understand better if this is truly HS related. i have spoken to dermatologists who say that there is no itch related to HS, Thank you.

Derms will say to opt for 'light, loose, breathable garments and preferably cotton' even for underwear.
For me sleeveless is great, then you can have a tight fit and wear a loose kimono style (or loose unbuttoned blouse), chiffon or a big cardi over top was my go-to so no-one could see my underarms when I was more self-conscious. But believe me no-one is ever looking.
I get the itching as it heals I think is this the same for everyone else?

I am thin also & unfortunately what I have been wearing is all sleeveless tops. They have kimono wrap like a cardigan that hangs in the underarm area to relieve any cling to the sore.

I wear mostly black or dark colored Hanes Xtemp tshirts. They're great for hot weather and any stains seem to come right out when washed. The rayon polyester blend is the best..super thin..not clingy. It almost feels like you're not even wearing a shirt at all. Make sure to check the fabric details specifically for the rayon/polyester blend, because they make different blends. Walmart/Amazon.
