I just want a day to sit and do nothing because I'm in so much pain doing the little things hurt. I want a day where it's ok for me not to wear a bra because I have a breakout and having the pressure of a bra on it makes it worse. I want a day where I don't have to walk because I have 5 different breakouts on my inner leg. I want a day where I don't get called lazy because the truth is I don't want to be lazy but I hurt so much I can't take going out in 100 degree heat. I want a day where I don't have to tell the kids I'm around all the time that I can't pick them up and swig them around because I'm in pain. I want a day that I can hold my arms up and it looks like the people's arms in the deodorant commercials. I want to wear deodorant but I can't because it makes me have breakout. HS is so hard to live with and is it brings me so much pain. I'm only 23 and I'm already scared of how bad it will get as I get older, I hate how my fianc had to ask me what I'm going to do about my strapless wedding dress because of my underarms because he knew how it makes me feel when people see my underarms. Or how when I wear a bathing suite and my arms comes up everyone looks at my underarms and has a disgusting look on their face. I hate knowing that the scars will never go away and there might never be a cure. But I love how I keep a smile on my face and how my fianc does not even notice my arms, I love how when a kid ask what's that under my arm I can tell them battle scars and they look at me like the coolest person in the world. I love how no matter how much I hurt if I tell my fianc he will be carful with me he will do anything in his power to keep my mind off the pain. I love how that even though I'm in pain almost everyday of my life I can still look at myself and say you are beautiful from the inside and no matter what is on your body God has a perfect plan for you.
HS has been the worst part of my days but having loving family and friends I get though it because I'm strong and I won't let it keep me down.

Your post made me cry... I've been suffering from HS since I was 16. Recently it has gotten worse, and my current outbreak has lasted what it seems like forever... I totally feel what you are going through with wanting a pain free day...or just a break.

I'm new to this site and I want to say thank you for being open about how hard it can be to have this condition. I'm 27 and I watched my father go through HS without help or treatment until he needed surgery. I am very afraid of what this means for me. I grew up thinking my whole life that HS was normal. Its just nice to be able to reach out.

I grew up feeling like something was wrong with me, and always felt as if I could not get close to anyone. I like This group because I can be honest with what's going on with me and not feel like I have to hide.

I understand oh to well....HS is not life threatening but it takes over your life. Not able to wear certain clothes and the clothes I can wear I only can bear them for only a couple of hours. Trying to avoid the heat because it cause flare ups. Hell even moving around too much cause flare ups. I have HS really bad, stage 3, pretty much everywhere and when it get so bad that I can not bear I get hospitalized. Yes the hospital stay reliefs enough pain so I can move BUT in reality I know its going to get bad again. My infected areas are still too bad to have surgery and its been over a year now. I have a great support team and doctors fighting with me but I understand that the consistent pain can be overwhelming at times.
