Hi guys! For two weeks i've had really painful lumps under my arms, I was so fed up of the pain and it took me two weeks to get an appointment with my GP, in the mean time I read about HS and became terrified that that would be my diagnosis, I eventually saw a doctor who immediately told me that I had HS, that it would never go away and that there was nothing he could do for my pain.... I left feeling pretty devastated, the pain has been so bad I didn't sleep for 5 days and I feel so depressed knowing that it may never get better :(

I wondered if any of you have found any good remedies, or advice for the pain?

I read about IPL hair removal as a successful treatment and wondered if any of you had tried it?

I'm so glad there is a forum like this for us all, I can already feel the isolation that this horrible disease can bring, stay strong everyone x

Hello, I've been a sufferer from HS for quite a few years now. I'm still looking for ways to help solve my pain as well and to be honest still haven't found any. The only thing that has worked for me was surgery which I had on my breast. When I have flarups I tend to just take ibuprofen as it is an anti-inflammatory medicine and is supposed to help the swelling go down as well as help with pain. I've heard of Epsom salt working as well for some people! And I hope you find something that helps you with the pain!

My doctor prescribed me cocodamol for the pain which works.

but to be honest, having a smoke of marijuana at night takes away the pain. I know not everybody would agree but its the best pain killer. lol

I wash the area with hibicleanse in my daily shower. You can find that at any drugstore. I use a tumeric cream called vicco on the flares and they shrink dramatically overnight. I apply the cream and put non stick bandaging over it before i go to bed. You can find the vicco tumeric cream on amazon. I also take a supplement of 500mg tumeric capsule twice a day. The cream is a Godsend for me. It doesnt burn or anything and is very affordable.
