OK so I have been dealing with HS for a few years now. I had my first outbreak when I was around 10 years old, and I am now 24 and as the years go on it gets worse and worse. I've seen doctors, dermetologists, surgeons, just about everyone and nothing is helping. I have a mild-high level condition. So far its has ruined every relationship I've been in. I can't even bare to look at myself in the mirror with all the marks on my body. I feel so self consious about it. Between the jerks I've dated and my low self esteem about myself I think I wont ever date anyone as long as this disease is attached to me. I've tried so many remedies I don't know what else to do??? I'm really starting to hate myself. I wish I didn't look like such a monster! I can't talk to nobody about it who actually understands the pain and frustration I'm dealing with. It's such a painful and disgusting disease to have. Right now I can't sit for too long! Certain parts of my body have huge inflimations such as my buttocks and stomach. This disease is ruining my life! I'm tired of crying about it every night, not being able to look in the mirror at myself, not being able to have a normal love life! This sucks! Someone please help! I'm tired of feeling alone!
I suffer from HS since about 5 years now and i totally understand your pain, physical and psychological. You have to remember that your body is just one part of who you are and you shouldnt let that part of you define your whole life. I know it is extremely frustrating to have no cure for this but you have to keep faith in amelioration to go on.
I believe it is possible to have an healthy relationship with this condition. But it is the same as any other relation, trust and communication is the key. I`ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years. Sometimes i am really shy and i dont want him to look at my entire body. I have to say he is my first real boyfriend and we started to go out when i turned 20. In brief, if you find someone that really loves you for who you are and not only for your apperance, it is possible to have a normal love life. If you date immature jerks, they are not gonna make you feel ok with your condition, and not ok with yourself in general.
Don`t let the disease win, go out and have fun, Go out with your friends and try to forget about it for a while.
