My flare ups occur the worst in my groin and buttocks area. My armpits flare up occasionally as well as in between and under my breasts. How do you inform a new partner of this without completely disgusting them? What are the odds that they’ve encountered this before on a previous partner? I’ve been with my bf for about 8 months and I’ve been able to hide it for the most part but I feel like I owe him an explanation. And I know once I get it out in the open, I will be 100% comfortable being naked in his presence with the lights on..
also so curious if anyone has any experience with eliminating the scars and tightening the skin back up? I have a few old cysts that drained but the skin is still protruding, almost like a large skin tag.

It’s always going to be very hard to explain to anyone what the HS monster is, including doctors unfortunately.
I usually explain that I have a non contagious chronic disease that presents itself as painful boils. I usually then allow the other person to drive the rest of the conversation.
As for my personal droopy skin, I use tea tree oil products and coconut oils. Overtime, the skin tightened with diligence.
Can't tell you how to go about relationships and things except there are definitely times I wish I had been more open about it so they could understand things better.
With scars there are many different ways to get them to go down. Don't believe any of those scar reducing products, it's all hype.
I have seen a lot of change in dark purple/black scars with exfoliation and tanning moisturiser (just to make scars stand out less). Additionally have been using Benzoyl Peroxide which has bleaching properties that helps scars go down faster and has helped me reach remission (alongside diet/lifestyle).
Overall scars take time to settle, so just patience.
