Do not start humira!

I'm new too and would not take hurmia. It has a lot of bad side effects. I've struggled for 20 years. Long story short, I'm tired of all the pain. I'm talking to my Dr now and after telling my story to him discovered that taking birth control with progestin might put it back in remission.

I would NOT take Humira. It dramatically lowers your ability to fight off infection. My mom took it for about a year and caught a fungal infection due to being on this and it almost killed her. I know this is an extreme case, but I would use it as your very, very last resort. I have had a lot of success with taking Tumeric Supplements daily. I also use a mix of Lavender, Frankincense, Rosemary, and Sandalwood essential oils daily on the areas where I have flare ups.

I was in a test group when Humira was first being tested on HS patients. From personal experience, it did not do much for me. I was receiving the drug and not the placebo. I was injecting myself once a week for a year. The side effects of the drug should be carefully considered by your doctor and you, depending on your health. If a doctor is just throwing it at you without testing your liver, heart, and kidney function, and blood sugar. I would caution you to slow down, and make sure it's the right treatment. Xx

for my son Humira was a god send, his HS covers 40% of the skin on his body. His first HS reaction was so severe that it almost killed him, with all the complications the followed. he was 13 at the time. Humira allowed him to get all of the inflammation under control, and get his life back. Being on Humira is not for ever. I would not casually recommend Humira but it did wonders for Nick!!
