Hidradenitis Suppurativa, which I have suffered from for 14 years CAN be put into remission. I do not think it can necessarily be permanently cured. Please look for a book by a lady named Tara Grant, who suffered with this for 20 years and has been in remission now for 3 years. Her book is called "The Hidden Plague". I have been following her protocol for about 6 weeks and my HS is diminishing rapidly with no new breakouts. I have coincidentally lost 15 pounds as well....can't beat that! But you CAN stop the pain and misery. I found my copy of the book at Barnes and Nobel online, but I think Amazon has it too. Please stop suffering and do this for yourself!

Victoria, there's a lot of info in the book. But the most important thing I learned is that a Paleo diet is essential, according to Tara. You can easily research Paleo diet. Or research "autoimmune diet." So far, a paleo diet seems to be helping me; but I've been at it less than a year. I hope this little bit of info helps.

Victoria, I just found an online support group that will probably have lots of info. I found it in Tara's book last night.
I think it will have lots of information and offer lots of encouragement. I recently joined two other support groups that have been helpful. One for ME/CFS and the other for learning how to pace in order to not get worse with ME/CFS. So after joining those 2 and being ecstatic with what I'm learning and how encouraging it it, I am excited to find yet another group. I hope it helps you.
