Help with pain killers with HS

Hi I'm new to this group, I have gotten a years supply of antibiotics for HS forgot the name I have to pick them up at the pharmacy in a bit here. I only get 10-22 50 mg tramadol every time I go to the surgical clinic here they barely kill the pain , and they expect those tramadol to last until I get to go back to the surgical clinic the next month I want to ask for something stronger and at least a month supply of Oxycodone or Hydrocodone but I don't want to ask because they might think I am an abuser I always here a doctor saying people come here and put a crybaby act to get pills.. I go to indian reservation ihs hospital and we have a problem here with opiate addicts and people getting caught selling them.. even if I ask for Oxycodone or Hydrocodone I know I'm just going to get a 1 week supply, I need a stronger pill , i had HS since I was 14 now I am 20yo I went to the Emergency Room here 2 days ago and got 10 50mg tramadol and 24 325mg acetiminophen, any ideas what to do? Im in so much pain I had a abcess or cyst ? on my groinal skin area it was painful and difficult to walk that's why I visited the ER it drained on it's own last night the pain from it went away THANK GOD.. any thoughts of what kind of hospital to go to?

Welcome dgkallday0537, I’m so sorry for your pain but words cant’ even explain the paid I know your going through. As far as antibiotics I’ve taken them for so long that they don’t even work for me anymore so I just completely stopped. As far as my pain I take ibuprofen and it actually works for me but it doesn’t take the pain completely away.

Everybody’s bodies are different and since I’ve joined this group there are so many remedies to use without getting surgery. When I have a really bad flare up I use dermoplast for the pain and ibuprofen for the pain. For me it does the job but again for only half of a day. Have you tried hot towel compressions?

Right now, I’m taking turmeric capsules for my flare ups. I just barley started taking them this past Friday so I can’t give you a solid review. When you get a chance read up on how Turmeric for HS you’ll be surprised. I hope you find something soon and I’m so sorry your going through this. We all hope to find something to cure it ASAP until than all we have is each other’s strength. Good luck to you.

Hello dgkallday0537, I currently use Hydrocodone for pain control, but I have other health problems in addition to hidradenitis. I do get decent relief as opposed to what Toradol or Tramadol have to offer. My doctor prescribes me a 30-day supply which lasts me 45-60 days. I have tried topical and oral antibiotics to treat/control my flare ups with no success, however the thing that has worked for me is having steroids injected directly into my boils/cysts. Although this is very painful at times, it causes the boils to dry up in 2-3 days. I know the pain that comes along with this condition so I pray that you're able to get the proper pain medication.
