Hi, all. I'm new here. I've had hidradenitis is my left groin for 5 years. It was the size of a golf ball, and leaked continually. At first I went to the wrong doctor, and he told me to keep it covered. A year worth of that, and he sent me to a general surgeon. I had my first surgery on it, and it took a year to heal. At first he told me just to keep it covered, and then he told me to pack it, and then he told me to put Silver Sulfadizine Cream on it. The whole process took nearly a year for it to close up. I was fine for 3 months and then it opened back up again. I tried the cream again with no luck. I then went for a second surgery, but as soon as they took the stiches out, it opened back up again. Useless. So now he is suggesting the advice of a plastic surgeon...he said they may or may not do the surgery, because of the difficulty of where it is located. (My lower groin)almost close to my butt. He said it's a very difficult place to heal. He said I can use the cream as long as I want to, and that general surgery has stopped working, and that I should look into plastics. Has anyone here, ever had Plastic Surgery on their groin? What was the outcome? Good or bad. I have only heard two people one said it was the best thing she can do, the other said it was the worst thing she can do. It's a 50/50 shot...and one I am still not sure about. I am glad that I found this place. I hope to get to know all of you better. I will be keeping a journal, get my frustations out...It's nice to meet you all, and I hope to make some great friends here, who are going through the same thing. :)
