Hello, I'm new here, yet old when it comes to HS for I've had it for 48 years.
This affliction is hideous, yet I survive with this thing everyday. I've had surgery, the removal of my left underarm in 1988 and it helped. Then I was hospitalized in 1991 for emergency drainage of the right underarm. I've had it run up and down my legs on and off for years. In 2000, I began to experience outbreaks on my breast, and I subsequently had to get steriod injections in each boil. That was the most painful thing ever, and it lasted for several months..... Of recent, this monster has decided to grow on my neck. But I've learn to fight back. I got rid of it within 7 days, and the fever that has always accompanied it is gone.
There is no cure for this wretched affliction, but it must be fought each and every time a "flare-up" occurs. I've found that taking supplements like, Curcumin, Raw Garlic and Zinc work. consider adding them to your daily diet, and using my pets ointment with neomycin sulfate also has improved the length of time boils come to an head on me, or reduce within less than 5 to 7 days. The boil on the neck had me sick with a fever last week and it didn't come to a head like it did 3.5 months ago.

I do find it odd that you call it a bacterial infection because everything I know says it's not and anti's usually donnot help most ppl at all. Most test always come back clean and that is the hallmark of HS. You CAN get bacterials infections with it though. Most ppl including myself get tested for MRSA and it's negative, another sign. You may want to start a new post re: this topic. Have you been tested for MRSA??
