Gross question

I know this is kind of gross but where else can I ask?

What is inside of your sores? Some of mine seem to be more infected and have pus, but many of mine are just filled with blood, and that seems so weird to me. I had one excised and the doctor was even confused by it. He described it as honeycomb structured with a blood clot in the center. Some of mine swell and leak and get really inflamed, but if they burst and can release that blood clot they heal.

I just wonder if this is the experience other people have. You never see the actual sores described so I am always slightly concerned that my HS is weird or my diagnosis is wrong.

Hello Tulip, I have the same and so does almost everyone I know with this. Each person is different. I get more blood and some get more yellow/green/white pus. If I were to guess I think what your Dr saw might've been the core. Always get a 2nd opinion if you feel you needed. I'm not a dr and just know about myself and a few others I talk to. DO what you feel best..maybe a dermatologist experienced in HS.

Mine are either filled with white stuff, dark blood or a combination of both. I can't say that I've ever removed a chunk or "core." But mine don't get super big. biggest was probably the size of a quarter. They do feel like a hard little ball under the skin.
Btw, there really isn't away to talk about HS without being gross, haha!

I even have some that come up slow and are hard. They are filled with almost a white powdery substance. Shrugs. Who knows. HS can be a master of disguises.

Mine usually have an orange liquid (pus and blood mixed).Less painful. But sometimes it is dark blood. A lot painfull! Well guys,my cardiologist (lol) recommended me a certain way of bath which helped the situation a lot. There is a sponge like net which remove the dead cells so you do not get new cysts so often or helps you recover more easily if you have already one,and maybe resurfacing. The liquid soap must be antimicrobial ( think antibacterial is a similar term). Be careful of your sensitive areas, these kind of soaps may cause vaginitis if they are used a lot in this area. I would recommend you should move around this area not ON this area. I think you know what i mean.Be careful too of stafylococcus,not to transmit it in other wounds if you re affected.Also,my dermatologist (known in my entire country) also recommended me the ointment named "Altargo" and it also worked (surprisingly) for me. You must put that ointment in cyst that have started to grow and you feel it in pain. Not in open cysts-wounds! I hope these advices would help some of you. I m glad to be a member,it's a relief for me a forum like that. I eventually found people who understand me and I understand them. :-)
